COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT




John D. Waddell


    John has served as a director of the Victoria Civic Heritage Trust, a member of the Advisory Board of the Canadian Scholarship Trust Foundation, a member of the University Council of Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, and is a former President of the YM/YWCA of Victoria. He is currently the President of the B.C. Government House Foundation.

    John is an avid runner, a hockey player of sorts, a rudimentary guitar player and the author of the occasional short story. 


Eugene Raponi

    Eugene currently sits on the Board of directors of The Greater Victoria Citizens' Counselling Centre, a society funded by the Vancouver Island Health Authority and the United Way, that provides lay counselling to the public as well as counselling education and programs. In the past, when his children were younger, Eugene's community involvement related to their activities. He was also involved in coordinating the youth exchange program for a local service club, doing volunteer work with disabled adults and children, and acted as a cub and beaver leader for several years.  Eugene Raponi - Waddell, Raponi  

    Eugene sings with a community Choir, the Allegra Singers, and enjoys squash and running. He is handy with a hammer and saw (as well as a host of power tools) and can sometimes be found performing renovation projects and building the occasional piece of furniture.


Nicholas A. Mosky

    Nick and his wife Susan are the parents of three active kids. He currently sits as President on the Board of Directors of the Craigdarroch Nicholas A. Mosky - Waddell, RaponiCastle Historical Museum Society and as Secretary of the Harmony Foundation of Canada. He has served on the Executive of the Victoria Bar Association and as a Section Chair and an Elected Member of the British Columbia Branch of the Canadian Bar Association. He regularly volunteers for the Salvation Army Pro Bono Referral service. Nick runs semi-regularly and occasionally struggles through a 10K race. He plays old-timers hockey with the storied Victoria Bay Leafs where his principal role is to remind his teammates how many more times the Montreal Canadiens have won the Stanley Cup than have the Toronto Maple Leafs.  



Edward (Ted) Pollard

    Ted grew up in Victoria, and  Ted J. Pollard - Waddell, Raponihas been active in community activities, having served on a number of diverse Boards such as the Oak Bay Police, St. Michael's University School and the Victoria Golf Club.

    Ted has been involved in sports all his life, having played rugby, cricket and tennis (he is a past "several time" Junior Tennis Champion of Victoria). He is presently very active in golf and has been past Champion of the Victoria Golf Club as well. Legend (his own?) has it that if not for his putting woes, he was a natural for the Senior Tour. Ted has been a member of the YMCA for many years and tries to keep fit through regular attendance.


Heather Jaeb

    Heather grew up in Pincher Creek, Alberta (birth place of SCC Chief Justice Beverly McLachlin), and while completing her law degree at University of Victoria participated in intramural ultimate frisbee and basketball. She was also the treasurer and a rower on the Scales of Justice UVic Dragon Boat Team. Heather currently sits on the executive of the Women Rainmakers section of the Canadian Bar Association.

    Heather currently plays in a local woman's basketball league. She enjoys camping, travelling, snowboarding, running (trying to keep up with John, Eugene and Nick at the annual retreat) and fishing.
