John D. Waddell, Q.C.
John Waddell has been practising law since 1979, primarily in the area of civil litigation, including personal injury, employment, construction and non-profit society law. He is an experienced arbitrator and mediator. Mr. Waddell has been active in the Canadian Bar Association for over twenty-four years as a member and chair of numerous committees, serving as President of the B.C. Branch in 1995/96. Currently, he is a director of the Canadian Bar Insurance Association, and a Governor of the Law Foundation of B.C. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1997.
Other professional responsibilities include being a member of the Judicial Council of British Columbia and, in 2002 and 2004, appointment as a member of the three member Judicial Justices of the Peace Compensation Committee of B.C., and a member of Council for the International Commission of Jurists as of August, 2007.
In January of 2003, Mr. Waddell was one of 35 lawyers from across Canada to receive the Queens Jubilee medal in recognition of his contributions to his community and the legal profession in Canada. He was nominated by the Canadian Bar Association.
Eugene Raponi, Q.C.
Eugene Raponi has been practising law since 1982, primarily in the area of civil litigation with a significant focus in family law. He is also an experienced Family Law Mediator and a member of the Victoria Collaborative Family Law Group. Mr. Raponi has taught as a sessional instructor at the University of Victoria, and is an ongoing contributor to Continuing Legal Education courses and publications in the area of family law.
Mr. Raponi has been active in the Canadian Bar Association for many years. He was an Executive member of the National Family law Section and served as its Chair in 1999/2000. Through his involvement in the National Family Section, he was active in the consultative process that led to the development of legislative changes to family law. Mr. Raponi has also served as a member of the Executive Committee of the CBA BC and currently Chairs its Advisory Committee to the Judicial Council (Provincial Court).
Nicholas A. Mosky
Nicholas Mosky was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1992 . He has appeared before every level of Court in the Province and has practised before a number of administrative tribunals. He restricts his practice to the area of civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance defence litigation , personal injury litigation on behalf of injured persons and commercial and construction litigation disputes. Mr. Mosky has been involved as counsel in complex litigation files involving insurance, construction, governmental liability and consumer protection issues. He has contributed material and expertise to the Continuing Legal Education Society and has taught as a sessional lecturer at Camosun College and the University of Victoria.
(Ted) St. J. Pollard
Ted Pollard has been practising law since 1966, primarily in the area of civil litigation with a significant focus on insurance law and personal injury law. His practice also includes employment law, economic loss, building contractor's liability, professional errors and omissions, complex construction disputes, faulty workmanship and associated issues arising from these areas.
A Member of the British Columbia Mediator Roster Society, Ted is now shifting his focus to the mediation and arbitration of disputes.
Mr. Pollard has served on the Executive Board of the Victoria Bar Association and is a former Chairman of the Legal Aid Society.
Heather Jaeb
Heather Jaeb completed her articles at Waddell Raponi, and was called to the Bar in September 2007. Her practice includes general civil litigation, personal injury defence, and administrative law (Residential Tenancy and Workers' Compensation matters). During law school, Ms. Jaeb volunteered for the Legal Information Clinic and the Pro Bono Law Students Club. She was also a Student-Member of the CBA and sat on the Young Lawyers of Victoria Subsection Executive between 2003 and 2006. Ms. Jaeb gained valuable work experience in civil litigation, administrative law, and family law while employed as a temporary Articled Student at the Aboriginal Litigation Division of the Attorney General, and the Environmental Appeal Board / Forest Appeals Commission, as well as practical trial preparation and court room experience while representing low-income clients at the Law Centre, a clinical program affiliated with UVic Law.
Ms. Jaeb is currently a member of the Victoria Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association and sits on the Executive of the Women Rainmakers Subsection.
