John D. Waddell, Q.C.
John Waddell has been practising law since 1979, primarily in the area of civil litigation, including personal injury, employment, administrative, and public law in such areas as elections, policing and consumer protection. He is an experienced arbitrator and mediator. Mr. Waddell has been active in the Canadian Bar Association since 1983 as a member and chair of numerous committees, serving as President of the B.C. Branch in 1995/96. Currently, he is President of the Canadian Bar Insurance Association. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1997.
Other professional responsibilities include being a past member of the Judicial Council of British Columbia and, in 2002 and 2004, appointment as a member of the three member Judicial Justices of the Peace Compensation Committee of B.C. John is Vice President for British Columbia of the International Commission of Jurists and completed a 6 year term as a Governor of the Law Foundation of B.C. in December of 2010. He is one of 38 lawyers in B.C. on the Attorney General of B.C. list of Special Prosecutors.
In January of 2003, Mr. Waddell was one of 35 lawyers from across Canada to receive the Queens Jubilee medal in recognition of his contributions to his community and the legal profession in Canada. He was nominated by the Canadian Bar Association.
As of January, 2012, Mr. Waddell will become one of the members of the Law Society's Non-Bencher Hearing Panels. Panel members include lawyers and lay persons from across B.C. selected by the Law Society to sit as panel members for discipline hearings of members of the Law Society.
Eugene Raponi, Q.C.
Eugene Raponi has been practising law since 1982, primarily in the area of civil litigation with a significant focus in family law. He is also an experienced Family Law Mediator and a member of the Victoria Collaborative Family Law Group. Mr. Raponi has taught as a sessional instructor at the University of Victoria, and is an ongoing contributor to Continuing Legal Education courses and publications in the area of family law. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2009.
Mr. Raponi has been active in the Canadian Bar Association for many years. He was an Executive member of the National Family Law Section and served as its Chair in 1999/2000. Through his involvement in the National Family Section, he was active in the consultative process that led to the development of legislative changes to family law. Mr. Raponi has also served as a member of the Executive Committee of the CBA BC and Chair of its Advisory Committee to the Judicial Council (Provincial Court) for three years.
Mr. Raponi is a member of the British Columbia Supreme Court Rules Revision Committee. He is also a Governor of the Law Foundation of British Columbia.
Nicholas A. Mosky
Nicholas Mosky was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1992 . He has appeared before every level of Court in the Province and has practised before a number of administrative tribunals. He restricts his practice to the area of civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance defence litigation , personal injury litigation on behalf of injured persons and commercial and construction litigation disputes. Mr. Mosky has been involved as counsel in complex litigation files involving insurance, construction, governmental liability and consumer protection issues. He has contributed material and expertise to the Continuing Legal Education Society and has taught as a sessional lecturer at Camosun College and the University of Victoria.
Heather Jaeb
Heather Jaeb graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree (with Great Distinction) from the University of Lethbridge in 2001. She received her Bachelor fo Laws Degree from the University of Victoria (Cooperative Education Designation) in 2006.
Heather has a long history with Waddell Raponi. She was accepted to the UVic Faculty of Law Cooperative Education program and completed one of her placements as a Co-op Student with the firm. She went on to become the firm's Articling Student and was called to the Bar in 2007.
Heather's litigation practice focuses on: personal injury defence, family law and strata property collections.
Heather is an active member of the Canadian Bar Association (2003-present) and has been a member of the Victoria Association since 2006.
